Phillip Earl "Pee Wee" Johnson, age 52, of 512 Dellwood Ave., Asheboro died Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Cedar Grove, NC.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 2:00-3:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. A memorial service will follow on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Johnson was a native of Tarboro, NC, was formerly a volunteer fireman with the Greenville Fire Department, and owned the Week In Treasure store in Cedar Grove, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie Derwood and Margie Gray Whitley Johnson and his brother, Ray Johnson. Phillip played in pool tournaments and was a member of the "Top Dogs" players. He was an avid Duke fan, sports fan, deer hunter, and enjoyed "Facebook."
He is survived by his wife, Rhoda Hunt Johnson; stepdaughter, Kelly Satterfield and her husband Ronnie Satterfield, Jr. of Asheboro, NC; stepson, Kenneth Craig Johnson of Asheboro, NC; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Margie Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC, Barbara Jean "Frog" Johnson of Rocky Mount, NC; brother, Bobby Johnson and his wife Lena Johnson and their son Ethan of Rocky Mount, NC.
