ASHEBORO--Mr. Peter Vereyken, 67, passed away at 2:50 A.M., Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Peter was a 1967 graduate of Randleman High School and a 1971 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Peter had a long career as an industrial engineer with such companies as Sara Lee and Acme McCrary. He was an avid collector and enjoyed writing poetry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Petrus Antonius (Tony) Vereyken and Wouda Maria Vermeltfoort Vereyken. He leaves behind to treasure his memory, his daughter and son-in-law Heather and Neil Senter, his daughter and son-in-law April and Scott Weingartner, his daughter Ashley Vereyken, his son and daughter-in-law Clint and Heather Vereyken, and his three grandchildren Ella, Ainsley, and Colin. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Harriet Ratcliffe, Nellie Beck, Dot Garner and Marion Hemerly, and brother Tony Vereyken.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 17th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Asheboro. Burial will be at the Randolph Memorial Park.
