Our dearly departed mother, Peggy Stein Vandiver, age 72, of Denton died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at her daughter's home in Asheboro.
Mrs. Vandiver was born August 3, 1940 the daughter of Henry and Ivory Burnette Stein.
Peggy was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a native of Reidsville, NC and worked in the textile industry for many years with Acme-McCrary. She also worked with her son's company, Industrial Finishing Technology of Asheboro. She was a faithful and active member of Farmer Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as Church Secretary. In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by: her husband: James Vandiver; sisters: Connie Metzler, Barbara Stein, Gail York and brother: Kenneth Stein.
She is survived by one daughter and her husband: Tina and Phillip Carter of Asheboro, NC; one son and his wife: Keith "Dane" and Sharon Ball of Asheboro, NC; one brother and his wife: Jimmy and Barbara Stein of Troy, VA; and grandchildren: Raechel Kowalski; Jeremy Kowalski; Alexis Toler; and Catherine Conley.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 28, 2012 beginning at 1:30 PM, at Farmer Baptist Church, 4566 Dunbar Bridge Road, Farmer, NC with a time of music and fellowship. The formal service will start at 2:15 PM with Rev. Jeff Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
