Peggy Harris Callicutt

Peggy Harris Callicutt, age 77, of Horseshoe Bend Rd., Troy died Monday, February 9, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Peggy was born January 6, 1938 in Montgomery County, NC, the daughter of Frank P and Nellie Batten Harris. Peggy loved to read historical romance novels and work in her garden. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a former employee of Capels, Inc. In addition to her parents, she is preceded In death by her husband, J.C. Callicutt, Sr., a sister, Mary "Punk" H. Medlin and brother, Pat Harris. She is survived by one son: J C "Bunky" Callicutt, Jr. (Lynn) of Troy; three grandchildren: Jeremy, Mandy and Hannah; one great-grandson: Brayden; two sisters: Faye H Atkins (Doyle) of Troy, Gaye H. Morris of Troy; two brothers: Frank "Hooter" Harris (Cathy) of Candor, William "Butch" Harris (Pam) of Norwood; Peggy was also guardian of Patricia "Sally" Medlin for seventeen years. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 11, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N Main St., Troy; other times at her home. At her family's request, her service and burial will be private. The family would like to thank special caregivers, Polly and Hoyt Strider, for the care and kindness shown Peggy over the years.
