Pauline Vernon Nixon

Pauline "Polly" Vernon Nixon, age 83, of 4899 Old Liberty Rd., Franklinville died Monday, October 12, 2009 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston- Salem.Mrs. Nixon was a native of Stokes County, NC and retired from Fashion Fabrics in Asheboro. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Nixon.She is survived by her sons: Mike Nixon and His Wife, Barbara of Asheboro, NC; Dean Nixon of Martinsville, VA; and Brian Nixon and His Wife, Sue of Denver, NC; Grandchildren; Tyler Nixon, of Franklinville; Brandon Nixon and his wife, Melanie, of Asheboro; Jennifer Nixon, Westpoint, NY; Matthew Nixon, of Iraq ; Jesse and Hanna Nixon, both of Denver, NC; and great grandchild, Mariann Nixon; brother: Ray Vernon, of Vero Beach, FLThe family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Friday, October 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Bethany United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Brownworth officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jean Housand and Sissy Wright for their loving care and concern they have provided for Polly and also for Marion Glascow for her steadfast friendship and Polly's Sunday afternoon puzzle companion.
