Paul Wade Scott

Paul Wade Scott, age 80, of 1048 Lakeshore Dr., New London died Monday, February 14, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jon Reece officiating. Burial will follow at Ramseur Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Mr. Scott was born July 18, 1930 in Ramseur to the late Matthew Edgar and Blanche Hammer Scott. He was a member of Ramseur Wesleyan Church and attended Chandler's Grove United Methodist Church. Mr. Scott was formerly employed with the Randolph County Sherriff's Department as a Detective and was a former truck driver for Hancock Hams and Klaussner Furniture. In addition to his parents, Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his sisters, Eva Mae Burgess and Margaret Williams. He is survived by his wife, Mary Casstevens Scott; daughters, Vickie Brown and her husband "Booty" of Ramseur, Paula Davis and her husband Ron of Seagrove, Rhonda Overman Odom and her husband Ben of Asheboro; son, Wayne Overman and his wife Dawn of Asheboro; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 16, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
