Paul J Haywood, age 86, of 302 Chicken Farm Rd, Biscoe died Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe.
Mr. Haywood was born January 17, 1926 at Montgomery County, NC the son of George and Ada Richardson Haywood. Paul was a faithful member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a retired employee with fifty-nine years of service of Capels, Inc. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Leon Haywood.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtle Staley Haywood of the home; one daughter: Phyllis H. Thompson and husband, Irvin Thompson, Jr. of Candor; two sons: Rev. James Haywood and wife, Ann of Biscoe and Ivey Haywood of the home; three sisters: Margie Green of Biscoe, Essie Sexton and husband, Bernard of Candor and Jessie Campbell of Biscoe; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, September 30, 2012 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1569 Troy-Candor Rd., Candor. The funeral will be at 5:00 pm with Rev. Julian Crooks and Rev. Clyde Allen officiating. Burial, with gravesite rites performed by his son, Rev. James Haywood, will follow in the church cemetery.
