Paul Arthur Girod

Paul Arthur Girod, 88 died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 from natural causes. Paul was born in Canton, Ohio on December 6, 1923. He was preceded in death by his mother Emma, father Julius and wife of sixty three years, Sally Marian Johns Girod. Paul was an Army/Air Force veteran of World War II. He graduated from Timken High School, Canton, OH and went on to attend Mt. Union College. His business career in sales management moved from steel to plastics and included membership in the Society of Plastics Engineers and Society of Plastics Industry. Paul was a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro. He is survived by his four sons, Marc and his wife Alice of Asheboro, Bradley of Greensboro, Thomas of Asheboro, and David and his wife Alice of Elon, North Carolina. Paul was blessed with seven grandchildren, Suzanne, Aaron, Brett, Scott, Cody, Cade and Kenny and six great grandchildren: Max and Guy Girod and Jenaya, Christopher and Sean Isley, Shylah Smith. The family will be holding a memorial service for Paul at First Presbyterian Church, 420 West Walker Avenue, Asheboro, N.C. 27203 on Sunday, January 15th at 2pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer`s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is assisting the family.
