Patricia Simmons Yow

Patricia Joan "Patty" Simmons Yow, age 79, of Asheboro died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation. Mrs. Yow was born March 23, 1934 in Lexington, NC the daughter of Barney Delbert and Verlie Geneva Wilson Simmons. Mrs. Yow grew up in Asheboro and worked for many years at Southern Life Insurance Company in Greensboro. She attended South Elm Street Baptist Church in Greensboro and was a devout Christian who loved leading others to the Lord. Patty was a devoted, loving mother, grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: William Richard Yow. She is survived by her daughter: Sherry Yow Walls and her husband, Tommy Walls of Asheboro; grandson: Thomas Richard Walls of Asheboro; brother: Gary Delbert Simmons and his wife, Belinda Simmons of Asheboro; niece: Ritchie Dee Simmons and her daughter: Melinda Saunders both of Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville with Dr. Lawrence Clapp officiating.
