Pastor Jeffrey Duane "Jeff" Lamb, age 56, of 8180 Lassiter Mill Rd., Troy died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Farmer Missionary Baptist Church, 4566 Dunbar Bridge Rd., Asheboro with Pastor Neil C. Poole and Rev. Derald Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jeff Lamb was first and foremost a man of God. He was saved on March 9, 1989 and preached his first sermon on June 11, 1989. Following his call to preach, he soon found his home at Farmer Missionary Baptist Church on October 7, 1990. His legacy will forever be that he had a burden for sharing the gospel and furthering the Kingdom of God. Jeff also loved his family dearly and cherished the time he spent with them. In his spare time he loved to fish and spend time on his boat.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Hardister Lamb; son, Thomas James Lamb and his wife Kari of Asheboro; daughter, Lindsay Lamb Cox and her husband Derek of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Maci Jolynn Lamb, Gage Thomas Lamb, Caden Thomas Cox; parents, Frank and Jackie Lamb of Asheboro; brothers, Greg Lamb of Galax, VA, Mark Lamb and his wife Lisa of Randleman, Jason Lamb and his wife Andi of Asheboro; sisters, Mona Bravo and her husband Fernando of Asheboro, Evelyn Lamb and her husband Ken of Asheboro, Alice Singleton of Broken Arrow, OK, Pam Hurley and her husband Brian of Asheboro. Jeff was preceded in death by his brothers Michael and Brian Lamb.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church.
The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Deacon's Fund at Farmer Missionary Baptist Church, 4566 Dunbar Bridge Rd., Asheboro, NC 27205.
