Page Gilmer McNeill

Page Gilmer McNeill, age 91, of Seagrove died Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove with Dr. Ronnie Chaney officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. McNeill was born in Moore County on March 20, 1922 to John Henry and Janet Hancock McNeill. He was retired from Weeks Construction after 20+ years of service and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Page was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Maie McNeill, brothers Charlie, Eugene, Stanley, and Bob McNeill, sister Clara Burgin, and daughter-in-law Brenda Hayes McNeill. Page loved fishing and farming. Page was a man of few words, but he was best known for a few of his favorite sayings, such as "Yea Yea," "I hear you," and "Right on." He is survived by his sons, Stewart McNeill and his wife Linda of Seagrove, Brent McNeill and his wife Debra of Ramseur, Mark McNeill and his wife Shelby of Seagrove; daughter, Karen Brewer and her husband Roger of Asheboro; grandchildren, Chad McNeill, Justin McNeill and his wife Lisa, Kevin Kesler and his wife Roxanne, Wayne Mabe and his wife Joni, Faith Cagle and her husband Robby, Corey McNeill, Ethan McNeill, Chris Brewer and his wife Emily, and Caitlin Brewer; and 14 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
