Onnie Baldwin Belding, age 91, formerly of Cliff Rd., Asheboro died Friday, October 31, 2008 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Belding was a native of Moore County and graduated from Mills Home, which is now the Baptist Children's Home in Thomasville, NC. She worked for Glenn L. Martin Aircraft Factory during WWII and later retired from Bossong Hosiery Mill. In addition to her employment, she was an excellent homemaker, raising a family with much love and care. She loved to travel with her family and extended family, which included trips to Alaska, California, and to the Caribbean. One of her most beloved trips, which became a tradition, was traveling every year to the Outer Banks. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Julius Joseph Belding in 1990, four brothers, and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughters: Jan Moxley of Pittsboro, NC and Barbara And Her Husband, "Chick" Vrany of Hampstead, MD; Son and Daughter-in-Law, Joe and Nancy Belding of Hillsborough, NC; Grandchildren: Julie V. Phillips, Chad and Carl Vrany, Laura and Emily Belding; Great Grandchildren: Ava and Carter Vrany; Zachary and Josh Phillips; and Sister: Connie Smith of Clarksburg, W. Virginia.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Garry Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
