O'Neil Hunt

Winfred O'Neil Hunt, Jr., age 68, of 155 Back Creek Terrace, Asheboro died Friday, November 23, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. Mr. Hunt, Jr. was born July 11, 1944 in Randolph County, NC, the son of the late Winfred O'Neil Hunt, Sr. and Marie Kindley Hunt. He was retired from the US Army after serving in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a retired jailer from the Randolph County Sherrifs Department. He was a member of New Center Christian Church and was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wayne Hunt. He is survived by his daughter: Ashley Hunt of Asheboro, NC and two sons: Joel Alan Hunt and Ryan O'Neil Hunt of Asheboro, NC, Grandchildren, Jody Neal Hunt and Emma Grace Haywood. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 26, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro with Dr. Jody Harrison and Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will recieve friends at Pugh Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, November 25, 2012.
