Obert Charles "O.C." Burrow, Jr., age 66, of Asheboro died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home.
O.C. was born September 15, 1947 in Asheboro, the son of Obert Charles and Lily Irene Joyce Burrow.
He was a 1965 graduate of Asheboro High School, graduate of Pheiffer University, and received his Masters degree from N.C. Agricultural &Technical College. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam war. He was a member of Totally Committed Ministries and a member of the Sons of Thunder motorcycle ministry. He retired as a teacher with the Randolph County School System and was a lifetime member of the Asheboro Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Shelly Dodson Burrow; Daughter, Jennifer Turner and her husband, Rusty of Asheboro; Son, Jimmy Burrow of Winchester, VA, Grandchildren, Joseph Turner, Callie Turner, Madisen Burrow, and John Burrow; Sisters, Lillian O'Briant Jordan and her husband, Tom of Randleman, and Evelyn B. Harris of Norfolk, VA;Several loving neices and nephews, and his favorite canine companions, Dottie Faye and Nugget.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Asheboro Friends Meeting, 230 E. Kivett St., Asheboro with Rev. Jeff Looney, Rev. Robert Kidd, Rev. James Dodson, and Rev. Ken & Pat Thames officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Asheboro with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
