Norman Thomas "Tommy" Goss, age 71, of Asheboro passed away peacefully Friday, October 16, 2015, surrounded by his family at home. Mr. Goss was born January 18, 1944, the son of Hugh Thomas Goss and Agnes Luther Goss. Mr. Goss was native of Randolph County and of Baptist Faith. He retired from Energizer Battery and was a veteran of the US Navy serving his country during the Vietnam War. Norman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Linda "Kay" Presnell Goss of the home; daughter and her husband: Angela and Bryan McKenzie; son and his wife: Gary and Beverly Goss; 6 grandchildren: Christopher McKenzie, Matthew McKenzie, Kaylin Cribbs and her husband, Tyler Cribbs, Lindsey Goss, Tiffany Goss and Gary "Buddy" Goss all of Asheboro; sister: Linda Susan Goss Jester of Cedar Falls and brother: Danny Goss of Ramseur. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Ricky Byerly officiating. Burial will follow at Flag Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the military honors presented by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
