Norman Raeford Caviness, age 72, of Asheboro went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Caviness was born in Randolph County to J.A. and Sadie Asbill Caviness. Norman served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired from Energizer Battery. In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Glenn, and Joe Caviness, and sisters, Stella Kiser and Myrtle Lee Love. He took good care of his family and loved golf and baseball.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Caviness; daughter, Sherri Lassiter of Randleman; granddaughter, Suede Lassiter of Randleman; brothers, Floyd Caviness and Grady Caviness; sisters, Margie Kiser, Elizabeth Shepley and Patty Welch; and mother-in-law, Faye Yow.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Craven officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
