Nonevieve Cox Craven, age 80, of Camden Place of Greensboro and formerly of Asheboro, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 12, 2010.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Friends Meeting, 2519 Bethel Friends Road, Asheboro with Rev. Terry Kersey and Rev. Thomas "Tom" Barton officiating. Burial will follow in the meeting cemetery.
Mrs. Craven was born in Asheboro on October 27, 1929, the daughter of John H. and Pearl Spoon Cox. She was retired from Nantucket Hosiery after 15 years of service and was a member of Bethel Friends Meeting. In addition to her parents, Nonevieve was preceded in death by her husband Seth N. Craven, sister, Gladys Mae Cox, and son, Gary N. Craven.
She is survived by her son, Glenn H. Craven and his wife Janice of Asheboro; daughter-in-law, Joy Walker and her husband Gary of Sutherland, VA; grandchildren, Sharon Cheek and her husband Doug of Asheboro, Stephanie York and her husband Jeff of Randleman, Alan Craven and his wife Kelly of Asheboro, Ashley Hicks and her husband Jed of Petersburg, VA; great grandchildren, Tiffany Hulin, Katherine Craven, and Sean Craven all of Asheboro, Colby York of Randleman, Megan Cheek of Asheboro, and Hope York of Randleman; brothers, Clayson Cox and his wife Peggy and Clyde Cox and his wife Irene all of Asheboro.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the staffs of Evergreen Rest Home and Camden Place, Nonevieve's special nurse Andrew, roommate Florence Boyd, and Hospice of Guilford County for their care during her illness.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro.
