Newton Harris Brown

Newton Harris Brown, age 88, formerly of Asheboro, died Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Sandy Ridge Memory Care in Candor. Mr. Brown was born in Asheboro on December 3, 1926 to Fred Edward and Nellie Hill Brown. Harris was retired from Klaussner Furniture in Asheboro. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and sang with a variety of gospel groups including The Harris Brown Family. He is survived by his sons, Eddie Brown and wife Margaret of Asheboro, Rev. Dan Brown and wife Myra of Graham; grandchildren, Dana Lynn Hill and husband Larry of Bennett, Jonathan Luke Brown and wife Elissa of Salisbury, Andy Brown and wife Cathi of Ontario, Canada, Timothy Lee Brown of Asheboro; great grandchildren, Noah Brown, Ashley Hill, Clay Hill, and Mason Brown. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery, 5946 Pleasant Grove Church Road, Bennett with Rev. Dan Brown officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
