Newell Cousins Painter

Alice Newell Cousins Painter, age 100, of 961 Straight St., Asheboro died Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Painter was born June 21, 1907 the daughter of William Goldston and Helen Scarborough (Bunch) Cousins. She was a native of Wake County and a homemaker. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther L. Painter, her son, Jerry E. Painter and her son-in-law, Jerry Iddings. She is survived by: daughter & her husband, Mary Helen And Irvin Muse of Greensboro, NC daughter: Adelaide "Andee" Iddings of Asheboro, NC,daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Painter of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Jill And Hank Maddux of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Erik Iddings of Mountain City, TN, sister and her husband, Hilda And P.G. Cobb of Charlotte, NC; sister: Geneva Hunt of Wendell, NC, brother and his wife, Burrell And Nell Cousins of Knightdale, NC, brother: Charles Cousins of Roseboro, NC; sister-in-law, Gail Cousins of Knightdale, NC The family will receive friends Saturday, September 1, 2007, from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. The funeral will be Sunday, September 2, 2007,at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers and Rev Coy Lee Haywood officiating.
