Nellie Mason Murdock

Nellie Mason Murdock, age 98, of 2554 Love Joy Road, Troy died Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Murdock was born September 26, 1914 in McDowell County, NC, the daughter of Andrew Johnson and Emma Woody Mason. She was a member of Forks of Little River Baptist Church and a former employee of Russell Hosiery Mill. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, A. Woodrow Murdock. She is survived by three daughters: Shirley Murdock of the home, Nancy M. Mayo of Clayton, and Kay McCaskill of Troy; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, January 4, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. A Celebration of Life service will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeeweemee-Star Road, Troy with Rev. Wayne VunCannon officiating.
