Nellie Thomas Hunsucker

Nellie Thomas Hunsucker, age 74, of 549 Dairy Road, Troy died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mrs. Hunsucker was born February 26, 1936 in Olive Branch, NC, the daughter of Edward L and Fannie Russell Thomas; she lived the majority of her life in Montgomery County. She was a 1954 graduate of Troy High School and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, but attended Troy Wesleyan Church. She was a retired office employee of Montgomery Motors of Troy. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Othar C. Hunsucker of the home; one daughter, Denise H. Carter of Asheboro; one sister, Mary Alice Culbreth of Greenville, NC; one brother, Dwight Edward "Buddy" Thomas of Troy. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1-2 pm at Troy Wesleyan Church, 842 Ophir Ave., Troy; other times at the home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 pm at Troy Wesleyan Church with Rev. James Brewer, Rev. Grady Blakely and Rev. Vernon McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Troy.
