Nannie Hopkins Cain

Nannie Hopkins Cain, age 99, of 500 Mountain Top Dr., Asheboro died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro. Mrs. Cain was born January 31, 1914 the daughter of Rufus and Maggie Sanders Hopkins, Jr. Mrs. Cain was a native of Randolph County and retired from Acme-McCrary after 45 years of service. Nannie was a life-long member of Central United Methodist Church and was a member of the Christian Homemaker Club, Good Times Club, Eva Loudermilk Circle and United Methodist Women. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband: Arthur Raymond Cain and son: Billy Edward Cain; brothers: Farley, Edward and Norman Hopkins; sisters: Thelma Hopkins, Bessie Holt Nance, Mardecia Hopkins Maness, Mary Frances Shaw and Mildred Farlow. She is survived by her granddaughter: Cynthia Cain Brower and her husband, Stanley, great-grandchildren:, Ashley Brower Havens, Raymond Arthur Brower, Katherine Brower Cox and her husband, Josh and great-great grandson: Bailee all of Asheboro, NC, sister: Nellie Jones of Taylorsville, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Central United Methodist Church Chapel, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Terry Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
