Nancy Riggs Young

Nancy Riggs Young, age 86, of Asheboro died Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Young was born in Mebane, NC on January 17, 1929 to Sidney and Eva Burch Riggs. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Clarence Melvin Young and eight brothers and sisters. Nancy was a long time member of multiple Bridge clubs, Weed-N-Win Garden Club, and the Junior League. She is survived by her children Susan Young of the home and Kevin Young of Asheboro; her grandchildren, Graham McCoy Braxton of Pittsburgh, PA and Claire Braxton of the home; brother, Bobb E. Riggs of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service until 4:00 pm and other times at her home. A private burial will be held.
