Nancy Ellen Hayes

Nancy Ellen Hayes, age 80, of Asheboro died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Miss Hayes was born February 23, 1930 in Winston Salem, NC, the daughter of the late Robert and Bertie (Manning) Hayes. Miss Hayes was a 1949 graduate of Randleman High School and also attended Appalachian University. She was a former Sunday School teacher and enjoyed working with children. She was currently a member of West Bend United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was formerly employed with Melvin's Variety Store in Randleman and later with Eagle's Dime Store and Hardee's. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant brothers. She is survived by her sister: Betty Hayes Hewitte of Asheboro, NC; Niece, Ellen Hewitte Vaughn and her husband, Jim, of Flower Mound, TX; Great Niece and Nephew, Lily and Thomas Vaughn of Flower Mound, TX. The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to funeral service at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
