Myrtle Bates Willis, age 79, of Randleman passed away on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Willis born in Randolph County on December 29, 1936 to Walker H. and Dovie Isley Bates. She was retired from Milltown Furniture. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband Harold Jim Willis, son Harold Lee Willis, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Myrtle was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Myrtle is survived by her five children, Lora Lee Willis Burns of Greensboro, Ella Marie Willis Reynolds of Randleman, James Arnold Willis of Randleman, Brenda Sue "Susie" Willis Kindley of Asheboro, Michael Harvey Willis of Seagrove; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Lee Bates McGrady of Asheboro; and brother, Walker Harvey Bates, Jr. of Randleman.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, 3335 Wesleyan Rd., Randleman with Rev. Harold Thompson and Rev. Aaron Robbins officiating. Mrs. Willis will be laid to rest beside her husband at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, where they both attended until their deaths.
