Myrtle Ingold Nixon, age 90, of 633 Old Liberty Rd., Asheboro died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Nixon was born May 11, 1921 in Mt. Gilead, NC the daughter of Rev. Garland Chandler and Mary Bessie Sasser Ingold.
Mrs. Nixon was a member of Central Falls Baptist Church and retired from Klopman Mills in Central Falls after 22 years of service. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Nixon, sister, Vernice Melton, brothers, her twin Merrill Ingold, Torrence Ingold and C. R. Ingold.
She is survived by sons, Thomas Franklin Nixon and his wife Christine of Asheboro, Robert Terry "Bobby" Nixon and his wife Blanche of Asheboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Nixon Damron and her husband Blake of Asheboro, Sean Thomas Nixon of Asheboro; great grandson, Blakeley Thomas Damron of Asheboro; sisters, Wanda Thompson and her husband Bill of Asheboro, Hilda Lineberry of Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Burial will follow at Grays Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Franklinville. Mrs. Nixon will lie in state at Pugh Funeral Home from 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 15, 2012 until service time.
