Myrtle Goins Joyce

Myrtle Goins Joyce, age 95, formerly of Seagrove died Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Schwartz officiating. Burial will be in the Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Joyce was born in Stokes County on May 17, 1917 to Charley Edgar and Cora Bell Goins. She was a member of Gospel Missionary Baptist Church and was a former volunteer with Cross Road Retirement Community. In addition to her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her her son George William "Billy" Joyce and her daughter Nancy Jernigan. She is survived by her sons, Robert "Bob" Joyce and his wife Peggy of Asheboro, Phillip Joyce and his wife Ella Mae of Seagrove; brothers, Edgar Goins of Asheboro, Elmer Goins of Asheboro, J. K. Goins of Asheboro; and sister, Ruth Lineberry of Asheboro.
