Mozelle York Lane

Tena Mozelle York Lane, beloved wife of the late James R. Lane, died peacefully at her home Wednesday, September 26, 2012. She was born to George Michael York and LouVelia Routh York near Ramseur. True to her parents' York tradition, she was an active, faithful member of the Baptist church, sang in the choir for most of her life, provided for her family by growing wonderful flowers and vegetables, and was a Democrat. After business college, she worked at the ASCS office and took early retirement. At home, she cooked, canned, froze fruits and vegetables grown in her backyard and also sewed clothes and draperies. Dust was not allowed to fall on her floor and she strove to keep her home straight and tidy both inside and out. She is survived by her children: Dr. James R. Lane, Jr. and Paulette of Tampa, Fl, Diane Lane Walker and Russell of Asheboro, NC, Harry Lane and Brenda of Welcome, NC. Her grandchildren, Heather Walker Azzu and Joe, Brent Walker and Christine, Jaime Walker, Brandon Lane and Traci, Dr. Justin Lane and Valentina, Jennifer Lane Scarozza and Dave, Matthew Lane and Angela, Dr. David Lane and Ch'uya. Her 12 great grandchildren and her youngest brother, Vaughan York of Staley/Ramseur, NC. The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro from 1:00-2:00 pm Sunday, September 30, 2012. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm at Randolph Memorial Park with Rev. Russ Ward officiating. The family deeply appreciated the loving care given by the staff at All Generations Home Care.
