Mozelle Bates Auman, age 92, of Asheboro died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Cross Road Retirement Community in Asheboro.
Mrs. Auman was born March 17, 1923 in Greensboro, NC, the daughter of Walker Harvest and Dovie Myrtle Isley Bates. She was formerly employed with Ridge Funeral Home and later at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, where she was a member. She operated Mozelle's Beauty Shop in her home for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and loved to cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Sonny Auman.
She is survived by her husband of 75 years, Nolan Auman; daughters: Faye Allred and her husband, June and Teresa Miller and her husband Wayne, all of Asheboro; son: Jerry Wayne Auman of Asheboro, NC; Twelve Grandchildren; Twenty Great Grandchildren; Three Great Great Grandchildren; Sister, Dorothy McGrady of Asheboro and Myrtle Willis of Randleman; and brother: Junior Bates and his wife Eva of Randleman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 12:30-1:30PM at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street in Asheboro. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary with Gary Mason officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
