Morris David Smith, Jr., age 64, of Asheboro, died on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Smith was born in Greensboro on July 24, 1951. David received his Master’s Degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. David served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, where he received 3 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star. He was the owner/operator of American Guaranteed Service. David was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Oakes Smith. He is survived by his wife Pam Pressler Smith of Concord; sons, Michael Smith of Kannapolis, Matthew Smith of Concord, and Joseph Smith of Mt. Holly; 2 grandchildren; father and stepmother, David and Donna Smith of Asheboro; and sister, Vonda S. Tucker and husband Wayne of Indian Trail. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Salisbury National Cemetery with Rev. Rick Byerly officiating. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
