Miriam Lane Russell

Miriam Lane Russell, age 91, of Troy died Friday, September 14, 2007 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Miss Russell was born August 17, 1916 at Center Hill, NC, the daughter of the late Rev. John Armstrong and the late Leslie (Graham) Russell. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a retired NC public educator. She was a graduate of Greensboro College and received her Master's Degree from Appalachian State University. She was a former Dean of Women at Louisburg College. She is survived by one sister: Mildred R. Smith of Troy; niece: Miriam Elizabeth Jicha; great nephews: Lt. Col. Gregory R. Jicha and family, Karl A. Jicha and spouse. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 23, 2007 at 3:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church, 239 N. Russell Street, Troy with Rev. Bobby Tyson, Jr. officiating.
