Milton Farrell Yates, age 68, of 926 Old NC Hwy 49, Asheboro died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at his home.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 pm at Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, 901 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro with Dr. Bruce Dickerson and Rev. Bud Parker officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Yates was born in Asheboro on December 1, 1943 to Beaufort Farrell and Esther Florine Kearns Yates, who preceded him in death. He was retired as president of Yates Country Ham and was one of the founding directors of Randolph Bank & Trust. Milton was a member of Fayetteville Street Baptist Church and was a former volunteer fireman with the Westside Volunteer Fire Department. Milton loved hunting, fishing, and shooting his guns, and being outdoors, but most of all he loved his family and grandchildren. He was a Christian father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia McDowell Yates; daughters, Krista Y. Maness and her husband Barry of Asheboro, Lisa Y. Vaughn and her husband Stephen of Asheboro, NC; son, Todd F. Yates of Asheboro, NC; grandchildren, Blair and Damon Maness, Corey and Connor Vaughn; brother, Roger Yates and his wife Annette of Asheboro, NC; mother-in-law, Juanita McDowell of Asheboro, NC; and brother-in-law, Jerry McDowell and his wife Kim of Asheboro, NC.
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 23, 2012 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at his home.
