Gene Moore, age 60, of 240 S. Main St., Randleman died Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at his home.
Mr. Moore was born April 25, 1947 the son of Hobart and Ollie Stevenson Moore.
Mr. Moore was a Lieutenant with the Randleman Police Department and its first full-time detective. He was also the first full time Fire Chief with the Randleman Fire Department. Mr. Moore was a founding member of the Pioneer Quartet and had also sung with the Hymnsmen Quartet. He was a Purple Heart Recipient with the 4th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by one son: Mark and wife Jennie Moore of High Point, One brother: Bruce Moore of Randleman, 5 grandchildren, Madeline Moore; Chloe Moore; Bailee Moore; Benjamin Moore and Tyler Moore.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St. Randleman, NC 27317. A Graveside Service, with military honors by the Randolph Honor Guard, will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 11:00 AM at South Plainfield Friends Meeting Cemetery, 4033 Plainfield Road, Sophia, NC with Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating.
