Mildred Elizabeth Robbins Sowers

Mildred Robbins Sowers age 95 of Asheboro, died Saturday, July 27, 2013. Mildred, affectionately called "Sister" by her family, was a native of Asheboro and the daughter of Solon and Effie Croker Robbins. She was a retired telephone operator with Central Telephone Company. The family will receive friends at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave. Asheboro, NC 27203 Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at West Bend United Methodist Church, with Rev. Drew McIntyre officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mildred was preceded in death by her brother Ed Robbins as well as her sister Lila Mayberry. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Oscar Sowers; daughter, Debbie Williams and her husband Russ of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren Samuel Williams and his wife Krystle of Winterville, NC, Mary-Elena Williams of Lumberton, NC; two great-grandchildren; sisters Vivian Bryant of Columbus, NC and Joyce Fields and her husband Gary of Denton, NC; brothers Britt Robbins, Jerry Robbins and his wife Hilda, Michael Robbins all of Asheboro, and Steve Robbins and his wife Sandra of Seagrove; as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved deeply.
