Mildred Maxine Luther

Mildred Maxine Butterworth Luther, age 84, of Asheboro died Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in the High Pine Wesleyan Church Cemetery. Mrs. Luther was born on August 17, 1929 in Princeton, WV to Walter and Susan Dunivant Butterworth. She was retired from Walker Shoe Company after 38 years of service. In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Luther, 8 brothers and sisters, 1 son, and 1 daughter. She is survived by her sons, Johnny Luther, Michael Luther and his wife Carolyn, Walter "Pete" Luther and his wife Janet of Asheboro, NC, Tim Luther and his wife Jeanie, and Doug Luther and his wife Debbie all of Asheboro; daughters, Deborah Nance, Penny Spencer and her husband Allen all of Asheboro; 12 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
