Mildred Ashworth Hunt, age 86, of Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Hunt was a native of Montgomery County and was retired from Union Carbide (Eveready) after 25 years of service. Mildred was a member of Asbury Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Coy Hunt, son Joe Hunt, 5 brothers, and 1 sister. Mildred enjoyed spending time with both her family and her church family. She enjoyed cooking and her favorite dishes to prepare were chicken & dumplings and apple pie. She is survived by her granddaughter, Jamie Kirby and husband Kenny of Concord, VA; great granddaughters, Lauren and Madeline Kirby; sisters, Violet Rush and husband Robert of Asheboro and Myrtie Ray and husband Charles of Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Rd., Seagrove. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 2:00 pm at Asbury Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Bryson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Hunt family.
