Mildred Denson

Mildred Denson, age 94, of 232 Spring Garden St., Asheboro died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Carillon Assisted Living Of Asheboro. Mrs. Denson was born May 29, 1913 at Bear Creek, NC the daughter of the late John W and the late Callie (Brooks) Phillips. Mrs. Denson was a native of Chatham County and was the widow of Walter T. Denson. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro where she worked with the children. She also worked with the NC Baptist State Convention teaching others how to teach children. Mrs. Denson retired from Burlington Industries after 40 years of service. She is survived by best friends, Carlie & Lois Edwards of Asheboro, NC and Gail & Bob Cooper of Asheboro, NC; cousins, Gladys Fesmire of Siler City, NC and Bill And Faye Finison of Gastonia, NC. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Siler City, NC. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 133 North Church Street, Asheboro, NC 27203
