Mildred Blackmon Cooley, age 92, of Randleman died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Pennybyrn At Maryfield, High Point.
Mrs. Cooley was born April 20, 1926 the daughter of Lannie and Clara Rhodes Blackmon.Mildred was a native of Wilkes County, GA. and a member of First Baptist Church in Randleman. She was a homemaker who took much pride in taking care of and cooking for her family and friends. Mildred was a founding member of Pinewood Country Club and a member of the Ladies Golf Association, where she enjoyed playing golf. She also was a substitute teacher for Randleman High School. In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Watt Cooley and her daughter, Faye Gaster.
She is survived by one daughter: Luanne Reeder and husband Terry of Randleman;granddaughters, Kristy Leung and husband Andy of Greensboro and Kim Poteate and husband Ken of Harrisburg, NC; great grandchildren: Taylor Poteate, Emma and Drew Leung; brother Carroll Blackmon and wife Barbara of Athens, GA.; nephews: Eric and Mike Blackmon.
The family will receive friends Friday, September 21, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 100 North Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Chris Heppding officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
