Michael Wade York

Sophia-Michael Wade York, age 64, of Sophia died Saturday, September 3, 2016 in Manteo, NC. Born August 5, 1952, Michael was the son of Ralph Grant York and Vera Smith York, who preceded him in death. Mr. York was native of Randolph County and was formerly a truck driver for Voncannon Trucking. He presently was employed as a truck driver for Harris-Teeter. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife: Margaret Gettig York of the home; stepson: John Dubitz of Sophia, NC; stepdaughter: Jennifer Dubitz of Michigan; 3 grandchildren; two brothers: Kenneth (Pat) York and Dennis (Sheryl) York all of Sophia, NC; two sisters: Pat (Randy) Davis of Sophia, NC and Janice (Reid) Pell of Asheboro, NC,; mother-in-law: Lois (Gil) DenBesten of Arizona; father-in-law, Charles (Evelyn) Gettig of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister-in-law: Brenda (Anthony) Allred of Level Cross, NC; brother-in-law's: Bill Gettig and Chuck Gettig both of Myrtle Beach, SC; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. The family will receive friends Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6 – 8 pm at at Pugh Funeral Home 600 South Main Street, Randleman. A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rhonda Wilson officiating. Pugh Funeral Home in Randleman is assisting the York Family.
