Michael Truett Woody

Michael Truett Woody, better known as "Woody", age 49, of New London died Thursday, October 4, 2018 at First Health Montgomery Memorial Hospital in Troy.

Woody was born on April 19, 1969 in Montgomery County to Truett and Shirley Davis Woody. He was a 1987 graduate of West Montgomery High School and a member of Calvary Gospel Church in Denton. Woody was employed with Montgomery County Emergency Services and owned and operated Woody's Lawn Care. He also worked part time for Hissims's Deer Processing and was a volunteer fireman with Uwharrie Volunteer Fire Department for over 31 years. He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Tina Norman Woody, daughter, Abby Woody and son, Dylan Woody and his girlfriend Evelyn Hernandez; Mother, Shirley Davis Woody of New London; Brother, David Woody and his wife, Gail of Troy; Father in Law and Mother in law, Billy and Brenda Norman of New London, NC; Nieces, Hannah Woody and Kady Woody and Nephew, Aaron Norman.

The family will receive friends Sunday, October 7, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy, NC 27371. The funeral will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at Calvary Gospel Church, 6722 New Hope Rd. in Denton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
