Michael Thomas Roberts

Michael Thomas "Mike" Roberts, age 62, of Asheboro died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at his home. Mr. Roberts was a native of Montgomery County and was a 1971 graduate of Southwestern Randolph High School. He was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church where he sang with several gospel groups. Mike sang for 20 years with The Kings Kids and 10 years with Living Waters. He helped with many years as a leader with Boy Scout Troop 513 in Seagrove. Mike was formerly employed with the Asheboro Block Plant and Oliver Rubber Company. Mike enjoyed golf, being outdoors, and piddling with lawn mowers. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Rev. William E. "Bill" Roberts and siblings, Kenneth Roberts, June Davis, and Billy Ray Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Nancy Williams Roberts, son, Christopher Alan Roberts and wife Angela P. Roberts of Asheboro; daughter, Angela R. Morris and husband Tony Morris of the home; grandson, Dakkota Michael Roberts of Witchita Falls, TX; mother, Shirley Leonard Roberts of Seagrove; brother, Danny Roberts of Carthage; sister, Kathy Ferree of Seagrove; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00-9:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Trinity Wesleyan Church, 3224 Trinity Church Road, Seagrove with Rev. Josh LeRoy, Rev. Larry Johnson and Raeford Brown officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. . Memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 533 S. Fayetteville St., Asheboro, NC 27203.
