Merrill Rex Broadstreet, age 92, of 806 Dixon Avenue, Asheboro died Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home in Asheboro. Mr. Broadstreet was born February 27, 1916 in Montgomery County, NC, the son of the late Oscar Azell and the late Martha Jane (Wallace) Broadstreet. He is survived by his wife: Lillian(Blakely) Broadstreet; Daughters: Martha Edwards, Patricia Foland, and Trudy Farlow, all of Asheboro, NC, and Judy Davis of Gulfport, MS; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; One great great grandchild; Sister: Catherine Ingold of Asheboro, NC. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of his daughter, Martha Edwards,3384 Tot Hill Farm Rd., Asheboro, NC. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 2:00 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor O. Ralph Kraft, Jr. officiating.
