Lewis Mebane Maness, age 84, of Asheboro died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Maness was born April 25, 1929 to Lewis Carl and Gladys Overman Maness. He was formerly employed with Rampon and retired from ETI. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict and was very proud of his military service. On Memorial Day, Mr. Maness would always place American flags on the veteran's graves at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a member and officer of American Legion Post 45. Mr. Maness enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Maness was preceded in death by son, Dale Martin Maness and sister, Barbara M. Lewallen.
He is survived by his wife Faedene Ragsdale Maness and daughter, Debbie Maness of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 1:00 - 2:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Ken McDowell officiating. Burial with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
