Maxine Redding Brookshire, 90, of Randleman passed away at the Randolph Hospice House on Sunday, March 26, 2017.
Maxine was born March 22, 1927 in Randleman, to Lester and Rachel Dennis Redding. She was a loving wife to John Daniel "J.D." Brookshire for 67 years.
As she worked in the home and raised her children, Maxine was also a substitute teacher for Randolph County Schools. She was an active member of Marlboro Friends Meeting and always said she loved her "Marlboro people". Maxine loved painting and gifting her artwork to loved ones.
Maxine is survived by her son Danny Brookshire and daughter-in-law Mary Brookshire of Denton; daughter Joyce Wolford, son-in-law Jerry Wolford; granddaughter Brooke Wolford of Randleman; brother Dennis Redding of Asheboro; sister Vera Cox and brother-in-law Bud Cox of Asheboro, sister Nella Lilly and brother-in-law Cletus Lilly of Randleman; brother Joe Redding and sister-in-law Sandra Redding of Greensboro; sister Rose Parsons of Kannapolis; brother Thom Redding of Greensboro, sister Sandy Parris and brother-in-law Tommy Parris of Franklinville and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 pm on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Family Life Center at Marlboro Friends Meeting in Sophia. A memorial service will follow at 2:45 pm in the meeting house with burial in the meeting cemetery officiated by Pastor Ray Luther.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of Randolph County for the loving care provided to Maxine and the family over the last few months.
