Maxie Wallace

Maxie Galloway Wallace, age 91, of Randleman went home to heaven Monday, May 1, 2017 at the Hospice Home at High Point.

Mrs. Wallace was born March 23, 1926, the daughter of Joseph and Laura Landreth Galloway.

Maxie was born in Brevard, NC and a member of Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church. She was formerly employed with Blue Bell and later retired from W&J Rives in High Point. In addition to her parents, Maxie is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lucius E. "Jesse" Wallace and son-in-law, Robert J. "Jamie" Gutierrez.

She is survived by her daughters: Shirley Erby of Asheboro, and Mary Gutierrez (Randy Smith) of Greensboro; son: Page Erby (Faye) of Randleman; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, May 5, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 pm at Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, 3335 Wesleyan Rd., Randleman, NC. The funeral will follow at 2:00 PM with Ronnie May and Dr. Harold Thompson officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Wallace Family Cemetery, Drakes Branch, VA.

The family encourages friends and family to wear bright, beautiful colors to honor Maxie's life to signify the beautiful person that she was.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whitehall Evangelical Methodist Church, 3335 Wesleyan Rd., Randleman, NC 27317 or Hospice at High Point, 1803 Westchester Dr., High Point 27262.
