Max Allen

Clarence Maxwell Allen, age 95, of 231 Inwood Rd., Asheboro died Saturday, July 12, 2008 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Mr. Allen was a native of Orange County and a member of First Baptist Church. Max served in the Merchant Marines and Coast Guard during World War ll. He was retired from Klopman Mills, a former member of Asheboro Lions Club and an avid woodworker. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth M. Allen. He is survived by two daughters: Jean A. Hill of Asheboro, NC and Maxine Allen of California and one son: Clarence Maxwell Allen, Jr. of California; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be conducted onTuesday at 11:00 AM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mark Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard .
