Mavis Rowena Hall Mize

Mavis Rowena Hall Mize, age 69, of Denton passed away on December 3, 2023 at the Randolph Hospice House.

Mrs. Mize was born in Catawba County on April 22, 1954 to Alvie and Peggy Hallman Hall.  Mavis was formerly employed in the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.  In addition to her parents, Mavis was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Tammy Dawkins, and brother, Donald Hall.  Mavis was a true mother hen who loved her family and really enjoyed gatherings with them.  Mavis loved to talk, the beach, and taking photos.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ronnie Mize; daughter, Christy Poist (Charles) of Denton; son, Ronald Mize, Jr. (Misty) of Denton; grandchildren, Emery, Taylor, and Lindsay; 1 great-granddaughter; brothers, James Hall and Allen Hall (Joyce); and sister, Barbara Helms.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro.  Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 1:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Alan Caesar officiating.  Interment will be held in Randolph Memorial Park.
