Mary Helen Lamb Tate, age 82, of Asheboro passed away on December 29, 2024 at her home.
Mrs. Tate was born in Asheboro on November 23, 1942 to Charles and Helen Lovette Lamb. She was employed in the textile industry for over 20 years. Mary loved her family and all the babies. She loved the beach and spending time at her beach house. Mary had a great memory, enjoyed working puzzle books, and Facebook. Even though Mary spent many years in a wheelchair, she still kept up with her family and the house.
She is survived by her husband of 62 ½ years, Robert Tate; sons, Robert E. Tate of Asheboro, Willie Tate (Sherry) of Asheboro, and Richard Tate (Sherry) of Asheboro; daughters, Tammy Stevens of Archdale and Sharon Grosenick of Wisconsin; 9 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; brother, Clay Lamb of Asheboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 12 noon-1:50 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Friday at 2:00 pm at the Glenn “Mac” Pugh Chapel with Rev. Michael Mabe officiating. Burial will be held at Randolph Memorial Park.
