Mary Ruth Boroughs

Mary Ruth Frye Boroughs, age 91, of 388 NC Hwy 42 S, Asheboro died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, Asheboro with Dr. John S. Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Browers Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mary Ruth was born in Carthage, NC on February 28, 1919, the youngest girl of nine children, to John Ashley and Catherine Jackson Frye. She was a school teacher for over 30 years, formerly teaching at Fayetteville Street School, and retiring from Grays Chapel Elementary School. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Boroughs, 2 granddaughters, and 8 brothers and sisters. Mary Ruth was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was a wonderful cook and a hard worker. She is survived by daughter, Sarah Delk and her husband Charles of Asheboro; sons, Mike Boroughs of Laurel, MD, Ashley Boroughs and his wife Cynthia of Asheboro; grandsons, Tyler Delk of Raleigh, Chris Boroughs of Raleigh, Curt Boroughs and his wife Laura of Apex, Clay Boroughs of Asheboro, Cole Boroughs of Asheboro; great granddaughter, Carley Reese Boroughs; and many loving nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro and other times at her home.
