Mary Joan Riggs

Mary Joan Birdsell Riggs, age 74, of 400 Vision Dr., Asheboro died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation of Asheboro, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at National Cemetery in Wilmington, NC. Mrs. Riggs was a native of Monongalia, WV, and a member of Kure Beach Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Dale Riggs and brothers, Eugene and Bill Birdsell. She is survived by daughter, Alicia Riggs Robinson and her husband, David of Asheboro, NC; son, Sidney Dale Riggs, Jr. and his wife Annie of Shinnston, WV; son, Ed Riggs and his wife Nelvia of Welsh, LA; son, James Lee Riggs of Carolina Beach, NC; grandchildren, Tiffany & Tyler Robinson of Asheboro, NC; brother, Byron H. Birdsell, Jr. of Fairmont, WV; special family friends, Judy and Gene Miller of Carolina Beach, NC. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 3, 2007 from 6 - 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC, other times at her daughters home at 674 Foxworth Rd., Asheboro.
